Today was the SCCHS 1st semester incentive. Students with 0 unexcused absences, passing all classes, and 0 days of ISS or OSS were able to go snow-tubing at Winter-place!!!

Please take note of the modified tardy policy. The original policy is on page 11 of the student handbook. Starting tomorrow, SCCHS will implement two new programs, Ecampus to track tardies and Smart Pass which enables us to provide a digital hall pass option.
Amanda Bennett, Logan Osborne, and Greyson Gumm were selected to participate in the Virginia Tech Honor Band festival. They were nominated by Mr. Sims, their SCCHS band director. There were 350 high school students from the tri-state area who participated. Students were introduced to the music on Friday and three lengthy rehearsals took place over two days, culminating in a concert on Sunday afternoon of the four honor bands. Congratulations to the students on a job well done and to Mr. Sims for a great learning experience and for representing Summers County well.
On January 27th, the 6th and 7th grade students will go to the Raleigh County Convention Center for the state Gear Up Kick Off Event sponsored by Concord University. The bus will leave SCCHS at 9:15. Students should be back to school by 1:15.
Permission slips must be returned by January 24th. Permission slips will not be accepted after the 24th. Students who do not return the permission slip will be given an alternate assignment to complete that day.
If the permission slip did not make it home, please have your child get one on Monday or you can stop by the main office on Monday. Permission slips will not be accepted after Tuesday, January 24th.

Good Evening Bobcats, A representative from The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission will be on campus January 19th from 9:00 to 3:00 to help seniors and their families to complete the FAFSA application for financial aid opportunities to attend college or technical school. If you need help completing the FAFSA, please visit the school on Thursday between 9:00 and 3:00. Please bring all tax records from last year.
