Summers County Schools operates five schools and one Career and Technical Center. Summers County High School (1994), Career and Technical Center (1973), Summers Middle School (1925), Hinton Area Elementary (1980), Jumping Branch Elementary (1950), and Talcott Elementary (2008).
Situated in the Allegheny Mountains between the beautiful Greenbrier, Bluestone, and New River valleys, Summers County has a diverse typography and stunning landscapes. Summers County was heavily influenced by the railroad boom during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Summers County is home to Bluestone and Pipestem State Parks in addition to New River National River and Bluestone Wildlife Management Area.
